Vets.gov

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Vets.gov?
Vets.gov is a website from Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) that provides products and services for Veterans in a single, centralized place. Additional features and services are added regularly with the goal of Vets.gov becoming a “one-stop-shop” for Veterans’ services and benefits.
Why did VA create Vets.gov?

Today, Veterans must navigate hundreds of websites and manage multiple logins to meet their needs. Veterans have told us they want simple, clear information and tools that are easy to find and use. VA created Vets.gov to be the single website for Veterans to quickly access VA products and services with a single login.

What is the benefit of Vets.gov?
Through Vets.gov, Veterans can discover, apply for, track, and manage their VA health care and benefits easily — as it should be. This effort will ultimately end the complex maze of systems we ask Veterans to navigate to access their health care and benefits information.

What can Veterans do on Vets.gov?
Apply for and manage VA health care
Apply for and manage benefits that help you pay for college and training programs
Get help building your career skills and finding a job
Check the status of a disability or pension claim
Refill VA prescriptions
Send a secure message to members of the VA health care team

Can I still refill my VA prescriptions and continue to send secure messages through My HealtheVet?
Yes. Your existing My HealtheVet account is still available. You can choose which website to use to send a message or submit a VA prescription refill request — it will be handled by the same VA staff.
