Mission Statement

Founded in 1946, the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization chartered by the United States Congress and dedicated to serving the needs of our members--all of whom have catastrophic paralysis caused by a spinal cord injury or disease.

The North Central Chapter PVA was established July 26, 1964 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and serves the states of South Dakota, North Dakota, Southwest Minnesota, and portions of Montana and Wyoming.

Today, PVA is a dynamic, broad-based veterans organization and the North Central Chapter is one of 34 Chapters across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Since our founding, PVA's programs and activities have expanded dramatically in size and scope to meet the needs of paralyzed veterans and all other Americans with disabilities.
